Economist specialising in industrial policy, innovation, and technology sectors. Most recently I served as Expert on Industrial Policy at the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, where I focused on industrial policy on semiconductors and other high-tech sectors. I contributed to Italy's national semiconductor strategy, advanced EU Chips Act initiatives including the set up of a WBG Chips Pilot Line in Italy, and supported major foreign investments like Silicon Box's €3.2bn chiplet fabrication facility. Previously, I served in the Cabinet of the Italian Minister of Technological Innovation and Digital Transition, focusing on GovTech initiatives to develop AI-based solutions for public administration. My experience also includes 7+ years at Nesta's Innovation Growth Lab, where I provided policy advice to innovation agencies across Europe and conducted experimental evaluations of innovation policies. I am currently finalising a PhD in Economics focused on the funding of innovation and science. I have expertise in quantitative methods, data analysis, and experimental research.
Working closely with the DG for Key Enabling Technologies, I contributed to: – Developing the national strategy for semiconductors – Attracting large investments, e.g. a €3,2bn chiplet fab – Securing a Pilot Line under the EU Chips Act – Strengthening partnerships with like-minded governments, such as through the G7 Point of Contacts group on semiconductors – Developing policies in high-tech sectors such as AI, quantum and chips
