Founded in March 2000, the North American Educational Initiatives Foundation challenges university leaders to become "authentic friends" (Aristotle: you as my other self) with people in every socio-economic condition. We are now sponsoring a series of free Virtual North American Student Congresses. We are also developing pioneering Virtual Reality video games for non-indigenous students about indigenous cultures.
Responsible for cultivation of 100 major donors and foundations west of the Mississippi; contributed to national organizational reach of member schools and messaging; conceived of numerous events aligning advancement with membership enhancement and growth; introduced organization to important Catholic influencers, laid the groundwork for future expansion to Mexican universities and school systems; proposed anniversary capital campaign and multiple original proposals for organizational development and potential donors.
Taught reading appreciation to all students in English and Spanish. Initiated and implemented new library book campaign that raised $220,000 (5,000+ books). Led school to be awarded Texas Education Agency’s prestigious “Purple Star” Military Child Designation as well as numerous Family Friendly School awards. Organized all activities and reports to fulfill Title I requirements. Conceptualized and brought to fruition numerous community partnerships ranging from fine arts to business to charitable organizations in large primarily Hispanic neighborhood school. Brought together principal and University of Houston for introduction of teacher candidates and student teachers.
During a total of five years of service in the firm, helped to make the dreams of Catholics and their dioceses, parishes and schools come true through intensive, on-site fundraising, and stewardship campaigns. My volunteer teams raised $26 million in pledges and gifts in 17 campaigns, a third of these campaigns were bilingual in nature.
Worked with dioceses and parishes on campaign preparations, at times in bilingual settings. Helped launch a new stewardship program in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
