Blackburn Diocesan Board Finance Limited is a company registered with Company House [Company number 00225457] and a Charity registered with The Charity Commission [Charity number 247647]. I was registered with Company House as a Company Director on 13th October 2012. The Board is now formed of the members of Bishops Council, who are also the standing committee of the Diocesan Synod - I have served continuously on Bishop's Council and the Diocesan Synod Standing Committee since 2003, but the Charity and Board were amalgamated in 2012 meaning that when I was re-elected at that point I joined the Board for the first time. Bishop's Council is elected for a 3 year term and meets separately as Bishop's Council, Diocesan Synod Standing Committee and the Board of Directors. The Board meets 6 times a year (on Saturday mornings to early afternoon). Amongst roles I have undertaken whilst on the Board has been to proofread and provide first feedback on Board policy documents, prior to them going to the Board. I have also served on a number of committees that feed into Bishops Council and the Board, some of which are separately elected including the Budget Committee which I have been on for the last 3 years.
The Blackburn Diocesan Board of Education is a company registered with Company House [Company number 00557954] and a Charity registered with The Charity Commission [Charity number 1020101]. Although I joined the Board in October 2012, I was registered as a Director at Company House on 1st January 2013. As part of the Board I have served on the Finance and Resources Committee and the Christian Distinctiveness Committee. Unusually, my wife has also been part of the Board for the last 3 years.
