I currently work at University Pediatric Dentistry's sedation center as a Surgical Technologist and assist residents and attending dentists as well as an attending oral surgeon. I have experience with Dentrix charting software, pediatric behavior management, dental radiographs, and sterile processing. I have completed my bachelors in Biomedical Sciences with he hope of expanding my medical horizons and dive into other medical specialties.
• Assist 18 dental residents and 9 attending dentists with examinations, fillings, extractions, and other dental procedures on pediatric patients under nitrous oxide, oral-conscious, and IV Sedation • Assist Dr. Timothy Votta in oral surgery procedures under IV sedation including extraction, biopsy, and exposure for placement of orthodontic chains • Educate patients on procedures, follow up instructions, and proper dental hygiene • Document appointments using Dentrix charting software • Discuss health concerns with patient/parent then contact physicians and specialists as necessary prior to treatment • Organize and sterilize surgical and dental instruments for use during procedures with patient safety in mind and educate new hires on office sterilization processes • Consulted on design of sterilization department of new Oral Surgery complex and dental office being built in Buffalo Medical Corridor
• Designed custom frames for photographs, heirlooms, and artwork based on customer wants and color theory • Assembled frames and accessories including cutting glass, mats, and acrylic to provide museum quality protection for customer's pieces • Facilitated good customer experience on the sales floor by recommending solutions for projects and stocking merchandise
• Provided a positive and safe environment for 5 severely mentally and physically disabled residents with cerebral palsy by cooking, cleaning, bathing, and maintaining their home • Planned activities, trips, and events for residents based on each resident's preference and accompanied them on all outings • Documented all necessary information about residents on Aspire's database at the beginning and end of each shift.
