Provide direct psychiatric and medical nursing care to adults with severe and persistent mental illness in a General Acute Psychiatric Services Unit (GSU). Conduct comprehensive mental health and physical assessments, monitoring patient status and identifying changes in condition. Administer psychiatric and medical medications, including IM injections, while monitoring for therapeutic response and side effects. Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and interdisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain accurate electronic medical record (EMR) documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
