About

Scientific professional with strong background and experience in programming, physical modelling, prediction and data analysis. My second love is studying ‘imperfections’ in otherwise perfect crystals and world for other matters. Thrive on simplicity while problem-solving. Avid Cricket and Chess player and a buddying opera master.

Experience

  • Artificial Intelligence Engineer at AI Pilots
    May 2024 - Dec 2025 · 1 yr 8 mos

As the first employee and founding AI Engineer at AI Pilots BV, I helped build the company’s technical foundation and AI delivery capability from the ground up. Working in a fast-paced, lean startup environment, I designed and shipped AI automation solutions for SMEs across legal tech, elderly healthcare, recruitment, investment, sports tech, and IT operations. Key contributions included developing production-ready LLM workflows, Azure Function APIs, agentic AI discovery tooling, CV standardization systems, ticket summarization and categorization pipelines, and portfolio risk-monitoring dashboards. I worked closely with clients to translate business processes into practical AI use cases and implementation roadmaps (discovery reports).

  • PhD researcher at University of Groningen
    Jan 2015 - Nov 2021 · 6 yrs 11 mos

    || Explored micromechanics of fracture in body-centered cubic (BCC) crystals with Iron being the model metal || • Programmed, conducted and administered fracture simulations (Discrete Dislocation Dynamics +Finite Element Method) on high performance computing clusters using FORTRAN, BASH and SLURM and validated the models through comparisons against the experimental data. • Collaborated with cross‑functional multiple technical projects, partnering with research institutes (Max Planck Institute, Materials Innovation Institute, TU Delft) and industrial partners (SKF BV and Tata Steel BV). • Drove stakeholder management over six years by presenting research outcomes to industry leaders and the scientific community at national and international conferences, simultaneously influencing both academic discourse and industry practices.

  • Research Assistant at Interdisciplinary Centre for Advanced Materials Simulation
    Mar 2012 - Apr 2014 · 2 yrs 2 mos

As a Masters research assistant, I finished two research projects (i) Phase-field study of mechanically driven grain growth (ii) 2D dislocation dynamics study of abnormal rate sensitivity of Al polycrystals with bimodal grain size distribution. The role involved numerical modelling, designing simulation approach, writing FORTRAN code from scratch, developing open source C++ phase-field package, presenting the findings in group meetings and writing scientific reports.

  • Project Associate at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur
    Aug 2011 - Sep 2011 · 2 mos

As co-editor, I created a virtual lab 'Mechanical response of a material to micro-structural, mechanical and thermal stimuli' on the web of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. On the sidelines, I also explored the mechanical response of pulse current electrodeposited Nickel-gamma Alumina Nanocomposite coating.

  • Management Trainee at Surya Roshni
