About

My task is simple, provide smart people an opportunity to work hard. We research, we deploy, and we manage solutions to big problems. We out work everyone else in the room. Our team is consistently pushing process, technology and accounting forward without impeding growth or paralyzing sales. I started in the field working as a well driller and moved into the office, where I learned accounting, systems, and operations. That path is the whole point. I know what the work actually looks like at the job site and what it looks like on the P&L, and I know how rarely those two views agree. At Piedmont Door Solutions I've helped scale a PE-backed trades business from roughly $5M to over $45M, growing the team from 26 to 180+ across 10 branches. Along the way: a $13.5M acquisition integrated in 63 days, three enterprise systems (payroll, field service, ERP) live in under six months during COVID lockdown, and company high-water marks on culture, a 67 eNPS and 4.7 Glassdoor rating, because none of the rest works if the team doesn't. Most people are good at one of these, the field, the systems, or the finance. I've spent my career working across all three.

    • Chief Executive Officer
      Aug 2024 - Present · 1 yr 11 mos

As CEO of Piedmont Door Solutions, I lead a $45M+ commercial door services company. I've driven Piedmont's scaling across four roles over a decade, System & Process Manager to Controller to COO to CEO, and being a key contributor in taking the company from roughly $5M to $45M+ during that time. • Grew top-line revenue from ~$5M to $45M+, headcount from 26 to 180+, 4 to 10 branches, while delivering 49% YOY EBITDA growth. • Integrated a $13.5M acquisition in 63 days: NetSuite go-live, data migration, operational restructuring, talent assessment • Led a people-first culture, delivering company high-water marks with a 67 eNPS and 4.7 Glassdoor rating. • Built and scaled the corporate function, 19 system integrations, in-house API and script development on NetSuite/MSI • Stood up a sales structure led by Regional Presidents and seasoned sales leaders, more than doubling confirmed backlog • Led the company through post-acquisition audit, developing the financial controls, reporting structure, and internal processes to support a rapidly growing operation.

    • Chief Operating Officer
      Oct 2021 - Aug 2024 · 2 yrs 11 mos

As COO of Piedmont Door Solutions, I owned operations, finance, and technology across a multi-branch services company through its scaling from ~$5M to $25M in top-line revenue. • Went live with payroll (UKG), field service (MSI), and ERP (NetSuite) in under six months during COVID lockdown, primarily with internal team, customizing each to operational requirements to enable data-driven decision-making • Ran financial and technology functions typically split across CFO and CIO roles, all in one seat • Delivered 54% top-line growth and 59% net income growth over the period, balancing revenue generation against cost management. • Scaled the team from 26 to 100+ while holding a people-first culture and operational consistency Integrated and streamlined operations across branches, building a cohesive operational flow • Opened three branches through a combination of greenfield builds and acquisition integration

    • Controller
      Dec 2017 - Oct 2021 · 3 yrs 11 mos

As Controller, I built the financial and systems foundation for a rapidly scaling company, accounting processes, internal controls, and the technology backbone, while balancing accounting integrity against the speed the growth demanded. • Developed scalable financial processes and strong internal controls, reducing low-hanging inefficiencies while protecting accounting accuracy • Led a digital transformation: full on-premise to cloud migration, Microsoft 365/Azure deployment, new hardware to all branches • Managed multiple vendors through a server upgrade, VoIP conversion (Verizon OneTalk), ERP upgrade, and a move to volume licensing • Built a "manage by exception" environment, distributing decision rights to the people closest to the work so leadership and sales could focus on revenue • Recruited and developed the team and implemented tax planning to support the growth of our technology. Built a team of people capable of managing digital transformation in advance of ERP and system implementations.
