I am a Mechanical Engineer with experience in office/industrial lighting, aerospace, and outdoor power equipment industries. Throughout my undergraduate education I have been fascinated with material properties and their effect on product design, performance, and quality. From initial forming to final machining, the processing a material undergoes affects the ability of that material to perform to specification and can make the difference between a quality product and a costly mistake.
-Design new and improved products per marketing specifications within scheduled time frames. -Prepare and maintain engineering drawings and 3D models of new product designs. -Generate initial product family bills of material for new product designs -Institute prototype construction and insure adherence to specifications. -Initiate and insure implementation of cost improvements. -Assist in the training and development of support personnel.
• Develop quality procedures according to customer requirements/specifications and industry standards (ISO9001, AS9100) • Creation and approval of manufacturing instructions and documentation. • Review engineering drawings/specifications for identification of key/critical characteristics and features • Design and conduct First Article Inspections (AS9102) • Investigate and resolve instances of poor quality (NCR, MRB, Root Cause and Preventative Actions)
• Acid-etching of material samples to determine microstructural properties • Operate a scanning electron microscope to document and verify microstructural phases • Operate and maintain vacuum induction furnace for steel casting • Train employees in lab safety, handling and disposal of acids
