As a sociology and politics student I am deeply fascinated by us as people, but more specifically the labels we use to construct what we believe to be society and how we demarcate social conventions from one another. I have a strong fascination in deconstructing present norms and values. In doing so I love questioning the importance and nature of political systems that we hold our selves deontologically obliged by and the social structures we allow to influence our daily decisions. Curiosity as such has led me to be strongly engaged in analysing both theoretical and pragmatic issues that affect us as humans. Core skills such as integral analysis and creative thinking have helped to ground my interests in human rights and justice at both higher and lower levels academia as I hope to venture down this path after my undergraduate studies. I am committed to exploring social and political activism and hope to use my knowledge to advocate for equity and positive social transformation, to help the personal of another.
