Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan
As a dedicated professional in the field of Special Education and Inclusive Development, I have consistently worked to bridge the gap between policy and practice for children with special needs across Punjab. Currently serving as the Coordinator for the Assistive Devices Initiative (in collaboration with UNICEF and the Punjab Special Education Department), I have successfully overseen the distribution of over 11,000 assistive devices across all 36 districts of Punjab, enabling thousands of children to access inclusive and empowering educational experiences. In addition, I have been appointed as the Focal Person for the Health Screening Project, a landmark collaboration between the Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department and Special Education, which focused on identifying, referring, and supporting children with disabilities across government institutions. Previously, I played a lead role in developing concept papers and PC-I proposals for the establishment of district-level rehabilitation centers, inspired by the Sindh Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (SIPM&R) model. These centers aim to provide essential services including physiotherapy, speech therapy, psychotherapy, audiological assessment, and occupational therapy at the grassroots level. I have also contributed to the planning and implementation of: Early Intervention Rooms in special education institutions. Physiotherapy and Audiology Units across various districts. Collaborative projects with Indus Hospital for the health and rehabilitation of children with special needs. Training programs, seminars, and professional development initiatives for teachers, therapists, and administrative staff. My work reflects a deep commitment to accessibility, early intervention, community-based rehabilitation, and inclusive education systems. I strongly believe that every child, regardless of ability, deserves equal access to support, dignity, and opportunity. ✅ Key Areas of Expertise: Program Development & Implementation Disability-Inclusive Policy Planning Interdepartmental Coordination Assistive Technology & Accessibility Rehabilitation Services in Education Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships (Govt. & NGOs) Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Training & Capacity Building Health Screening & Referral Systems
I'm proud to share my ongoing role as Coordinator for the Assistive Devices Initiative, a collaborative effort between UNICEF and the Punjab Special Education Department. Under this initiative, we have successfully covered all 36 districts of Punjab, ensuring the provision of over 11,000 assistive devices to children with special needs. These include mobility aids, hearing and visual support tools, and other essential assistive equipment tailored to each child’s individual needs. This project is not just about devices—it’s about empowerment, accessibility, and inclusion. It has been a privilege to coordinate efforts that directly support students in leading more independent and dignified lives.
