Over 20 years delivering strategy, sustainability, and transformation across Europe, Africa, and Latin America, from boardrooms to greenfield projects, across 12+ sectors and 59+ engagements. The work has included a $1.5B annual savings programme for a US energy major, a $250M profitability turnaround for a state-owned conglomerate in Angola, and leading sustainability strategy and EU incentive structuring for Aurora Lithium, a Galp-Northvolt joint venture, where I secured the EU STEP Seal among other public funding milestones. Today I work independently through Sustenuto Portugal and 2F Advisory, advising boards on sustainability strategy, corporate transformation, and M&A. I also evaluate R&I projects for EIT RawMaterials under Horizon Europe.     Aurora Lithium was a joint venture between Galp Energias and Northvolt developing a ~€1.2B lithium hydroxide refinery in Portugal, designed to be Europe's most sustainable facility of its kind. As Head of Sustainability, Strategy, and Incentives, I was responsible for: - Sustainability strategy: zero wastewater discharge, low emissions design, and circularity integration across operations - EU and national incentive structuring: led public funding applications at national and European levels, securing the EU STEP Seal among other milestones - Strategic planning and investment readiness across the project lifecycle - Executive advisory to the Board and Executive Committee on sustainability and strategic priorities - Interim Chief of Staff: coordinating cross-functional initiatives and major workstreams - External communications with public entities, regulators, and funding bodies - Secretary to the Executive Committee The project was discontinued following a shareholder decision in early 2025.
