KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management across 14 countries on 3 continents • Deal with complex, significant matters which cut across legal and related areas • Set internal governance policies and manage the impact of external factors • Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically identifying proactive solutions to eliminate or mitigate them • Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights • Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.) creating relations of trust • Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation KEY ACHIEVEMENTS • Created and maintained associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders through the provision of: o accurate and timely counsel to executives on a variety of legal topics (tenders, labor law, partnerships, international ventures, contentious issues, corporate finance …) o The application of effective risk management techniques and proactive advice on possible legal issues o Regular conformity monitoring (embargos, international sanctions, FCPA, Anti Bribery and Corruption …) o clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization o a legal process roll-out (intranet, templates, guidelines …)
