I am a GMC registered Doctor and looking for a medical post in the NHS. I am a young and ambitious doctor looking for a chance to prove my worth. I wish to excel as a professional and to use my zest, competitiveness and clinical skills to be part of a good clinical team in the NHS. I intend to work under the supervision of consultants, that will polish my skills and give me the opportunity to give back to the community and for the betterment of the patients.
I worked as a Medical Officer at the prestigious Doctors Hospital and Medical Centre, Pre-Op Ward Rounds post admission, Investigations and history taking of patients, General and Systemic examination, Anesthesia & Cardiac evaluation, ensuring all pre op checklist is completed and patients are fit for surgery Post Op Ward rounds, Completed post op orders of Surgeon, Input and output monitoring, Medicine Chart maintenance, Wound care, dressing, hygiene check, Responsible of ensuing ward management of post op patients and 24 hour vital care on call, Dealt with active complaints and issues
We had patient consultations in Endocrinology OPD, Hematology clinic and General OPD. I had the opportunity to see a wide range of patients with medical illnesses. To name a few – Acute coronary syndrome, Heart failure, Stroke, Meningitis, Pneumonia, Asthma and COPD exacerbation, Gout, Acute Renal failure, Gastroenteritis and Electrolyte Imbalance. Clinical skills - (Blood Sampling, IV Cannulation, NG Tube Insertion, Urinary Catheter Insertion)
Worked under the supervision of experienced nephrologists and had the opportunity to care for patients with kidney problems, renal stones, dialysis and transplant patients. My work day consisted of taking history and examination of patients, under the supervision of the consultants assisting with the diagnosis and treatment of diverse renal disorders, assisted in providing high quality care for patients, ensured all medical documents and records were maintained to a high standard, conducted ward rounds and managed rota’s of clinical attaches.
I taught Pharmacology to MBBS students in their 3rd year at Central Park Teaching Hospital. I prepared extensive knowledge and practical base presentations to students. I had the opportunity to discuss and teach the Mechanism of Action and drugs, clinical benefits and integrations, adverse effects of drugs during studies, CVS, Respiratory systems, GIT and Autonomic Nervous Systems. As a Part Time Medical Officer, I ensured all House Officers were supervised and signed off on their daily works.
My responsibilities as a house officer focused on taking the relevant history from patients, which was followed by assisting the consultant on the, Creating and implementing patient care plans, conducting detailed skin assessments, diagnosing a range of skin conditions, Patient care plans, Providing expert advice on skin care and prevention methods, During my rotation we had the chance to work on and actively seek advice from the consultant and advice patients on, eczema, scabies, psoriasis, acne, fungal infections, lichen planus, Lipoma, sebaceous cyst, impetigo, measles, mumps etc
