• Presented on how Zenith Soft Drinks tracked bottle recycling rates and proposed strategies to increase them. My team placed first in this challenge, which reinforced the importance of tying ESG initiatives directly to commercial outcomes, showing how sustainability can be used as a strategic growth driver. • Explored key departments across the firm - Tax, Audit, Legal - through direct conversations with professionals. This gave me a practical sense of how specialised teams operate and intersect. • Analysed the McVities v HMRC case, assessing whether Jaffa Cakes are legally cakes or biscuits. It was a compelling look at how legal classification impacts tax policy, and how law and finance often overlap in unexpected ways. I developed and defended an argument based on legal precedent and fiscal reasoning. • Gained exposure to how firms are integrating AI and emerging technologies across departments, not just to automate routine tasks, but to inform decision making and adapt to a rapidly evolving business landscape where tech competence is becoming a baseline expectation.
