  • Structural Engineer at York Engineering
    Aug 2024 - Feb 2025 · 7 mos

York Engineering is a structural and civil engineering firm, specializing in designs for production and custom homes. As an intern, I was given a large responsibility in learning the ropes with understanding the integral components of house structures and proper load distribution for multifaceted designs. I was expected to do detail-oriented calculations that focused on the safety and optimization of structural design. In these calculations, I would analyze, collect, and compile data on the house that would be constructed and then determine the measurements required for the beam and truss sizing as well as the logistics of the framing. This internship, allowed me to directly interact with clients and learn the essential engineering practices needed to fulfill the needs of clients and engineering specificity.
