Evaluation of dried blood samples from Angola in order to identify mutations in samples resistant to current malaria treatments. Gained experience performing DNA extraction, purification, PCR amplification, gel electrophoresis, NGS sequencing and data analysis.
PanXome is a pre-clinical drug discovery company using advanced protein modeling algorithms to provide predictions of disease-associated protein targets. Designed user-interface for a pipeline to predict the side effects of potential small molecule drugs. Performed data collection and analysis to test the precision and accuracy of side effect predictions and to determine the threshold for the likelihood of a potential drug passing clinical trials.
Evaluation of commercially available Mobile Medical Applications (MMAs) for malaria rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs). Helped design protocol, taught others in the use of MMAs, and performed comparative testing of mobile devices for reading malaria rapid diagnostic tests in support of a joint CDC project with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) and the Global Malaria Program at the World Health Organization (GMP/WHO). Helped perform data cataloguing and analysis.
