    • Director Of Engineering
      Jun 2018 - Aug 2020 · 2 yrs 3 mos

Working with the awesome team of Smugmug+Flickr 😊 Got the opportunity to lead an awesome team of engineers working on various product teams including native apps (mobile) team at SmugMug. Currently acting as Head of Engineering, Growth. Have been playing an active role in defining the strategy for our platform and Native app teams - defining the roadmap and acting as a product manager helping with prioritization. Worked with the team to cut the AWS cost down tremendously. This included coming up with the backlog of projects and prioritizing them with the biggest impact on the cost. On the Native apps team (SmugMug has 5 platforms we support - IOS app, Android App, Windows App, MacOS app and Apple TV app) also playing a very heavy role to define their roadmap, vision and strategy and execution of the team. Focussed on balancing feature work with the tech debt that we have accumulated for last several years and working with the team actively on the plan to pay the debt in a meaningful and effective way. Leading a mix of very senior and mid level engineers and enjoying the journey while growing as a leader every single day. Worked with senior executives and leadership team in restructuring the teams around business goals and metrics in a very thoughtful way bringing people together with a common goal and vision. In my day to day role I collaborate very closely with cross functional teams - product , design and marketing and internal teams like Ops and QA.
