I’m a hands-on product and engineering leader focused on building technology at the intersection of fintech, fund management, and AI. At Hatcher+, I lead the product and engineering teams behind FAAST™ (Funds-As-a-Service Technology), a multi-asset fund management platform built from the ground up to modernize operations for family offices and fund managers. My work spans architecture, engineering, investment data systems, fund operations workflows, and AI-driven automation. I stay deeply technical while driving product strategy, execution, and platform scale across multiple markets. My background combines corporate banking, deep-tech R&D, and venture capital, supported by a B.Eng. (Computer Engineering) and M.Comp. (Information Systems) from the National University of Singapore. Lead architecture, product, engineering, and delivery of FAAST (Funds as a Service Technology), a multi-asset investment management platform for fund managers, family offices, and institutional investors. Built from inception to serving multi-jurisdiction fund structures (Singapore, UAE, Luxembourg) with globally distributed investors. Hands-on across architecture, backend engineering, AI workflows, and critical code paths. Core Responsibilities - Own full-stack development across backend, frontend, data models, infra, and integrations - Lead architecture for cloud-native, multi-tenant platform serving APAC and international jurisdictions - Deliver AI/LLM capabilities: workflow automation, RAG-based semantic search, multilingual document processing - Drive SOC 2 Type II certification, KYC/AML compliance, access control, and auditability - Hire, mentor, and scale cross-functional team from scratch (12 hires, near-zero attrition) Key Achievements - Built payments and banking infrastructure: Stripe (subscriptions, payouts), Ebury (FX/multi-currency), Banking Circle (virtual accounts), OCBC/Finologee (bank connectivity) - Implemented transaction/ledger systems with audit trails, reconciliation, and FX automation - Integrated Singpass (Singapore national digital identity), working directly with government requirements - Delivered fund operations: capital activity, distributions, subscription flows, investor servicing, multi-jurisdiction compliance - Built investor portal, NAV dashboards, IRR/MOIC analytics, and dynamic document generation - Created AI layer with LLM copilots and intelligent workflow automation - Established AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering governance
I started my journey at Hatcher+ as a Software Engineer, where I contributed to the early development of a sophisticated investment platform. I worked on building data-driven applications, optimizing performance, and ensuring system security. Through hands-on coding and problem-solving, I gained deep expertise in Laravel, Vue.js, AWS, and MySQL, laying the foundation for my transition into product leadership.
As the first engineering hire at Hatcher+, I played a foundational role in developing FAAST platform from the ground up. I contributed to core product development, building scalable and secure applications using PHP, AWS, and MySQL. I also helped lay the groundwork for efficient data handling, security protocols, and system optimizations, setting the stage for the platform’s future growth.
Worked with a deep tech cybersecurity research team at the School of Computing, National University of Singapore to create a web platform from scratch to commercialize an 'Automated Test Generation Solution for Mobile Apps' called Test1080. The solution generated test cases for Crash and UI related bugs without writing a single piece of code. This effort was funded through the SMART Innovation Grant. In addition, I also led the business development side to engage new clients and raise funding for the startup.
SDE intern for the data migration team for a large logistics and transportation company project to create extensive testing tools from scratch using VBA. I also assisted with the user acceptance testing phase by writing SQL Queries for data patching.
Interned with the Global Subsidiaries Group at Corporate & Investment Banking arm of Citibank, Singapore. I assisted the relationship managers with the credit review processes of their clients as part of annual due diligence by analyzing the financial statements and sitting through client calls.
