Televic Rail develops Passenger Information Systems (PIS) for trains and light rail vehicles: * The Televic PIS is an end-to-end solution supporting communication between ground crew (dispatchers), train crew and passengers. * Components of a typical PIS: LED displays, TFT screens, speakers & amplifiers, handsets & microphones, passenger counting sensors, CCTV cameras, etc. * PIS management functionality can be foreseen both in the train (via tablets, mobile phones, handsets, buttons, etc.) and/or via the wayside system (via a web application). * Direct customers: Train building companies (e.g. Bombardier, CAF, Hitachi, Siemens, Stadler). Roles in the company: * Solution design across all PIS customer projects. Involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from requirements specification, over design & implementation, up to final project delivery. * Definition and introduction of a novel system architecture for the Televic PIS on-board system, facilitating productisation of the system, by enabling maximal re-use of core building blocks across different customer projects. * Software architecture review, across the entire Televic Rail R&D organisation. * Coaching of peers (e.g. software developers, technical leads, R&D coordinators).
Companies FLOW, Be-Mobile and Mobile-For merge in March 2016, forming a new smart mobility group, called Be-Mobile. Proximus, one of Belgium's largest telecom operators, is the new main shareholder of Be-Mobile. CTO for 2 out of the 4 business units of Be-Mobile: * Traffic Management Systems (former FLOW NV business, see below) * Mobility Payment Systems (former Proximus/Mobile-For NV business). Reference projects/products in "Mobility Payment Systems": * Pay for parking space, public transport and e-fuel using the 4411 services (mobile app, SMS & web). * Pay for parking space using 3rd party services, integrated with 4411 (e.g. KBC Mobile, Olympus, Flitsmeister, Touring Mobilis). * Parking permits for city residents. Operating in multiple Belgian cities, including Antwerpen, Leuven and Brussels.
Reference projects: * Parking guidance systems in 10+ Belgian cities. E.g. Antwerpen, Brussels Airport, Kortrijk. * Traffic management on highways in both Belgium, The Netherlands and France. * Traffic management at major events. E.g. Tomorrowland, Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop. * Traffic detection using both permanently & temporarily installed detectors. Operating 100+ permanent installations in Belgium, The Netherlands and France. * On-street parking detection based on 1000+ parking sensors. * Analytics on mobility data (e.g. travel times, traffic intensity, parking availability). * Pay for parking space using a mobile app (Mobigo). Service designed and developed from scratch by FLOW. Operating in production in 4 Belgian cities, until the merge with 4411 (in the context of the merger between FLOW and Mobile-For). Roles in the company: * Team coordination: The technical team (up to 7 FTE) responsible for development of the online traffic management platform FLOWcontrol (SaaS solution). * Project delivery & Product development: Definition and execution of the joint project pipeline / product roadmap. * Business & Product strategy: Contribution to company strategy and product roadmap, in collaboration with the other members of the management team. * R&D projects: Initiation and follow-up (Flanders - Vlaio, Europe).
Roles: * Functional & technical analysis. * Software development: backend services and embedded software. Technology stack: C++, C#, MS SQL Server, Microsoft Azure (e.g. Service Bus, Azure SQL, Table Storage, Blob Storage).
