Designed, implemented, and operated a cloud-based Electronic Health Records system for school-located mass-immunization providers. The solution runs in the Microsoft Azure cloud and utilizes many of the Azure PaaS services, including App Services (formerly Web Apps), Application Insights, Key Vault, Storage, and SQL Database. The solution provides a UI for billers to enter data from patient forms and sends claims to medical insurance providers (including Medicaid). To comply with state reporting requirements, immunization data is sent to state immunization registries.
As the Director of IT for the Sorrell College of Business (SCOB) at Troy University, I help the College achieve its strategic goals of program quality and accreditation.
As a Lecturer in Information Systems in the Sorrell College of Business, I teach both lower and upper level Information Systems courses. I currently teach or have taught Knowledge Management and Business Intelligence, Network Infrastructure and Security, Network Operating Systems and the introductory Computer Concepts and Applications courses.
As the Web/Technology Specialist for the Sorrell College of Business, I fullfilled the role of IT Director. I am responsible for anything technology in the College. Major strategic initiatives include data warehousing and analytics for accreditation and implementation of new technologies to implement the College's mission and strategic direction. With the IT staff, I manage the databases and data warehouse, end-user education, web sites, computer labs, and assist the Dean of the College with technology solutions to strategic challenges. I also support faculty in the use of e-learning tools, such as Blackboard and MyITLab. As part of my activities, I collaborate with the University's IT department and vendors on selecting the most suitable and cost-effective solutions.
Strategic management consulting and the development of software to support advanced workflow processes for companies in various industries. Recent projects include SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery, SQL Server beyond-relational (FILESTREAM/FileTable) and migrating line-of-business applications to the Windows Azure cloud.
Development of several web applications to support the University's outside contracts. Saved +$10,000 per year for Small Business Development Center by reducing employee workload. Development of the Sorrell College of Business' web site at http://business.troyst.edu. Increased positive image of the College. Increased usefulness of the site by employing a user-centered design and structure. Support of student labs with Windows 2000 and Windows XP client operating systems; totalling over 100 computers. Designed new system for cloning and software configuration using industry-standard tools and technologies.
