      I serve as Managing Director of Business Information and Operations Services (BIOS) at TNO, the largest independent research and development organization in the Netherlands. The BIOS department plays a vital role as the largest part within the service organization of TNO. BIOS comprises 5 departments: Corporate Real Estate & Facilities; Operational Excellence & Auditing; Information (ICT) Services; Security; and Research Information Support. TNO BIOS is driven by our mission: We continuously impress by providing excellent services, leading to more TNO impact. BIOS focuses in 3 key areas: 1. Creating an Inspiring and Innovative Work Environment: We are dedicated to designing a workplace that not only attracts TNO employees but is also efficient, secure, safe, and sustainable. Our workplace encompasses various elements, including laboratories, office buildings, as well as our digital systems, applications, networks, and data. 2. Services: Our primary focus is on delivering comprehensive support for all aspects necessary to bolster TNO's applied research initiatives. This encompasses resolving issues through our IT and facility helpdesks, providing guidance on hybrid working, safety and security, conducting audits, safety inspections, and offering cleaning and catering services. 3. Undertaking Major Transformation Projects: We lead internal projects, such as the implementation of genAI in TNO, the transition to SAP S/4Hana and Succesfactors, the construction of new research facilities, streamlining organizational processes, implementing a new security regime (ISO 27001, ABDO), and efficiently sharing research data. We support various change processes within TNO through a team of highly skilled performance coaches and project managers. Managing BIOS involves caring for approximately 250 employees. The BIOS management team, including myself, is deeply committed to create an environment where inclusivity, safety, and talent management are paramount.

      As an Interim Manager in the TNO Unit Defence, Security, and Safety, I had the privilege of leading the reorganization of this critical unit. My role was instrumental in transforming and revitalizing the organization to meet evolving challenges, adapt for growth, and align with the needs of our launching customer, the Ministry of Defence. My activities comprised: • Building a next version of the Unit: Spearheaded a comprehensive reorganization effort to create a more agile, responsive, and innovative unit, ensuring its alignment with our partners. • Adaptation for growth: Developed and implemented strategies that enabled the unit to efficiently scale up its operations, accommodating the increasing demand for defence and security solutions. • Contributing to a positive work environment: Lead by example in cultivating a work culture that encouraged diversity and welcomed talents from various backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere where creativity thrived. My time at TNO Unit Defence, Security and Safety was dedicated to driving positive change, ensuring the unit's readiness for the future, and enabling innovative responses to emerging challenges.       I am the acting Managing Director of the TNO unit Energy Transition. It is the ambition of this unit to accelerate the energy transition. It does so together with other knowledge institutions, companies and the government so that in 2050 the Netherlands will have an energy regime free of CO2 emissions. The approximately 700 scientists conduct independent and internationally leading research in four large programs: Renewable electricity; CO2 neutral industry; Sustainable subsurface and System transition. The unit is organized in 12 departments, and it hosts amongst others the Dutch Geological Survey.
