About

I am German by birth but grew up in New Zealand. In 2016, I relocated to Vicenza, Italy, where I have continued advancing my career as an R&D engineer since 2017. I am fluent in English, have embraced the Italian language, and still maintain enough German proficiency to converse confidently. I bring extensive expertise in PCB development (DFM), leveraging tools like Altium Designer and SolidWorks PCB. Additionally, I have completed SolidWorks training courses, which enabled me to design and deliver a plastic injection-molded cover for a retrofit product introduced to the European market. In New Zealand, I worked as a test engineer, frequently traveling to China and Mexico to provide production support and implement automated test systems optimized for high-efficiency and high-yield production lines. Production test systems were developed using National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand, and I continue to leverage these platforms to deliver test APIs and production test solutions for EAS S.p.A and EAS Engineering S.r.l.

I am part of the Electronic Engineering Research and product Development team. We provide a product development service starting from the feasability analysis (proof of concept) right through to comercialisation (mass production). My role in the team is to use Altium Designer / Solidworks PCB develop the PCB and optimise the layout. Working within mechanical constraints imposed from existing modelled enclosures or other external constraints. I work directly with the customer to optimise component placements, and make use of the ECAD and MCAD collaboration features extensively. In addition to the PCB development I focus on the design for manufacturability and automated test requirements. Delivering a test API for an external test team to use as a building block for production testing, if the automated test sequence is not developed by me (which has been the case for all internal projects developed within the R&D team and produced inhouse at EAS S.p.A). On occasion I have also provided mechanical design solutions modeled within Solidworks (productionised by external thrid parties). Plastic parts to be plastic injection moulded in mass production. Skills: Advanced / High complexity RF PCB development (impedance control, differential pairs, up to and including 8layer designs, power electronics and motor control) - Altium Designer - Solidworks PCB - CAM350 Mechanical Development (ECAD <-> MCAD, plastic injection moulded parts which have been comercialised) - Solidworks - 3D printing - Assembly studies - Fluid dynamic flow studies (basics only) Automated test systems for mass production implimented within a common platform developed in Labview. Used as the building blocks for all other test systems with database and html reporting for data analysis. - National Instruments Labview - Python - JSON
