  • Art Director at Oor Wullie BIG Bucket Trail
    Sep 2018 - Oct 2019 · 1 yr 2 mos

Delighted to be the art director for The ARCHIE Foundation for Oor Wullie’s Big Bucket Trail. “Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail runs for 11 weeks from 17th June 2019 – 30th August 2019, culminating in a series of Farewell Events and nationwide auctions in each of the five host cities, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness. Scotland’s first ever national public art trail will unite the country as it raises awareness and vital funds for Scotland’s children’s hospitals. Funds raised through the trail will support Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and the ARCHIE Foundation, helping children in hospital across the country. Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail is a Wild in Art event, and would not be possible without the support of DC Thomson Media.”

  • Art Director at Maggie’s Penguin Parade
    Aug 2017 - Oct 2018 · 1 yr 3 mos

The Maggie’s Centre, Wild In Art, sponsors, artists, schools and the community will come together to welcome 80 giant, individually designed penguin sculptures to the region during summer 2018. There will be a trail live on 29th June and will be live all summer culminating in a grand farewell event in Slessor Gardens on 22 and 23 September before a spectacular auction on 24 September 2018. Meanwhile children in schools across the city will be learning all about penguins, and decorating smaller sized penguins that will join their friends on the trail before returning to live with their adopted school family. Maggie’s Centres provide free practical, social and emotional support for people with cancer and their families and friends offering a programme of support that has been shown to strengthen physical and emotional wellbeing. Built in the grounds of Ninewells Hospital our centre, designed by Frank Gehry, is warm, welcoming, and full of light and open space. It’s a place to find practical advice about benefits and eating well; a place where qualified experts provide emotional support; a place to meet other people or simply sit with a cup of tea. The Maggies Centre costs £540,000 per year to run and our aim for the parade is to raise enough money to open our doors for a year. Maggie’s Penguin Parade is a partnership event between Maggie’s Dundee and Wild in Art. Wild in Art is one of the leading producers of spectacular, mass-appeal public art events, which connect businesses, artists and communities through the power of creativity and innovation. Since 2008 Wild in Art has animated cities across the world including Sydney, Melbourne and Cape Town, and created trails for the London 2012 Olympics, the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Historic Royal Palaces and Penguin Random House.

The Oor Wullie Bucket Trail team's Artist Co-ordinator will help bring the project to life.
