I’m a passionate global sustainability and CSR/corporate citizenship leader, Chartered Environmentalist and Fellow of the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) with 20 years’ community investment and sustainability experience in the Financial Services, Technology and Telecomms, and Education sectors. I am experienced in creating and leading Sustainability and CSR strategies and programmes across UK & Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific, including carbon reduction and net zero, social and community partnerships, operational risk management, supply chain engagement, corporate communications and public/media presentations, reporting and regulatory engagement, and team management. I’m also an experienced charity Trustee, currently serving on the Board of ShelterBox and Heart of the City (UK).
Heart of the City ambassadors are responsible business leaders from a range of sectors who offer their knowledge, experience and resources to support Heart of the City to achieve its mission in growing CSR practices among SMEs. This is a voluntary role for responsible business experts by invitation only.
Responsibilities include: devising and implementing a new CSR strategy, developing global partnerships and initiatives across APAC, North America, and EMEA, managing carbon footprint reporting and offsetting, producing CSR and sustainability reports, overseeing employee engagement programmes in 29 countries, managing the global budget, and line management of the CSR team.
- Auditing CSR programmes and devising new global strategy - Day to day management and reporting of key CSR programmes across Europe, Americas and APAC - Leading the company’s annual day of service, the Global Day of Giving. This includes recruitment, training and ongoing management of volunteer coordinators; target setting; internal/external communications; producing resources and guidance on volunteer project scope and management; risk assessments; and devising metrics and reporting processes to measure impact - Producing the annual CSR report - Research and innovation – creating new global programmes in areas such as sustainability, educational outreach and community affairs. - Managing XL Catlin’s responses to CSR-related global legislation, including the India Companies Act, and the upcoming EU Non-Financial Reporting Directive - Writing media submissions, internal and external CSR communications and CSR section of XL Group’s Annual Report - Driving XL Catlin’s environmental sustainability including managing our carbon emissions reporting (CDP, Ceres and regulatory climate change-related reporting) - Reviewing/updating research agency/CSR rankings reports on XL Catlin (e.g. Sustainalytics, FTSE4Good) - Maintaining an understanding of leading global trends in CSR, sustainability and brand management - Assisting with the management of the UK CSR Coordinator.
