Managing ETL team/resources Provide effort estimates for each new project/task. Participate in project initiation discussions. Work with Project Manager to come up with overall project plan/time lines Highlight risks and issues as the project moves on. Work with project architects in order to finalize the Data Integration approach and overall ETL strategy. Perform case studies to find out the appropriate tools and technologies for the data integration. Knowledge about Master Data Management concept and products Participate in design discussions Identify deliverables for each iteration Engage various source teams based on the data/report requirement Come up with the standard approach to acquire the data from the source systems. Create and review high level design and low level design documents Review source to target documents Perform environment setup Create Informatica mappings using various transformations, corresponding sessions and workflows. Review Informatica, Oracle, Maestro, Teradata piece of code Help team members to clarify any of the Informatica related questions Engage Infrastructure team for Infrastructure setup for a project Review test results from Unit test, Integrated unit testing phase of the project Engage system testing team to determine the testing strategy. Review Master Test Strategy documents Coordinate code migration in various environments. Review and make sure that the non functional requirements are fulfilled Review the performance of the jobs and identify the opportunities for performance tuning. Analyze and tune the performance of the mappings to obtain highest possible throughput. Work with the DBA to optimize the jobs
