Developed a Failover System between 2 servers running an critical application in the LAN of an organization, having a single interface to interact with the Internet. The failover was designed to, cater to, service termination on one node, power failure, hardware issues, and network issues. The protocol was implemented over two phase commit protocol(Master/Slave Configuration). Implementation involved Socket Programming in C and Unix Bash Shell Scripting.
Worked with Professor Laurie Thompson as a teaching assistant to monitor class labs, taking doubt sessions, and grading assignments for the course. The main goal was to plan and interact with students of the class to make the teaching experience better and interactive, by looking out for ways to improve class involvement and discussion.
Worked on development and maintenance of Walt Disney IT infrastructure, an entertainment enterprise. • Assisted in Delivery Compliance as per GSSD Standards, Security Documentation, and PCI Audits as Security Focal of the account. • Engineered UNIX Server Builds as per accordance to customer requirement specification. • Applied Solaris Patches on Solaris Servers, and replaced malfunctioned hardware to keep the environment bug free and up to avoid any production outages. • Hands-on Incident Management to solve the problems faced by internal and external customers. • Created and supported Network File System (NFS) type access file systems on UNIX platform which allowed customer to share data across NFS Clients. • Helped Backup Team to inspect that backup jobs are not suspended and always complete on time, so that in time of emergency we have backed up data to restore from. • Designed Shell Scripts to automate some basic tasks of System Administration. • Implemented and Tested Internet Protocol Multipathing (IPMP) on few Disney ABC Servers on which it was configured but never supported failover. • Upgraded and Worked on Veritas Volume Manager, Operated on Veritas Cluster scheduled/unscheduled failover activities, and managed EMC Storage/ XIV Storage configuration and testing with SAN Team. • Coordinated with Disney Change Advisory Board as Change Management focal for UNIX servers, in order to get changes assessed and approved by them, before they are implemented in live environment.
Supported and worked on HTML, JAVASCRIPT, and SQL to develop/maintain websites for various UK based clients.
