About

Careers rarely follow a straight line. Mine certainly didn’t. I’ve spent my career navigating the realities of work from multiple perspectives: corporate executive, transformation leader, professor, mentor, strategist, and founder of The Career Prof. Over the years, I’ve led brands, rebuilt teams, managed organizational change, mentored employees through growth and setbacks, and taught hundreds of students and professionals preparing to enter an increasingly complex workforce. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: Success at work is rarely just about talent. It’s also about visibility, communication, leadership, timing, relationships, confidence, perception, and understanding how organizations actually function behind the scenes. Too often, people are given tactical advice for deeply strategic career situations. A better résumé will not always solve a toxic boss. Working harder does not always protect you during change. Being the smartest person in the room does not guarantee influence. And what gets you the job is not always what helps you thrive in it. That’s why I created The Career Prof. Today, I help professionals navigate workplace complexity, leadership challenges, career turning points, and reinvention with practical strategy grounded in real-world experience. I share insights through a series called Lessons From the Room, stories and observations about leadership, workplace dynamics, power, communication, and the realities of modern work drawn from the boardroom, the classroom and everywhere in-between. Because after difficult meetings, restructures, leadership changes, or career shocks, many professionals are left asking themselves: “What really just happened in that room?” Or more personally: “Now what?” Former SVP and senior marketing executive. Professor. Strategist. Builder. Mentor. Career and leadership advocate. If you’re working through a complex career issue or want to be thinking more intentionally about your next move, feel free to connect.
