I have 11 years of experience providing services in Mental Health setting. As a Director of Nursing at Crestwood Behavioral Health in Bakersfield California, I am responsible for managing and maintaining appropriate staffing ratio on the unit along with providing regular in-service training opportunities that are based on needs identified through competency assessments and new trends & developments in the field of mental health. My focus is to promote staff growth by close supervision and training and work side by side with psychiatrist & medical physician to address patient needs and conduct assessments. I also oversee the day to day functions of Mental Health Rehabilitation Center and provide direct nursing care to patients and make independent decisions. I am also responsible for responding to medical and nursing emergencies along with providing on-call services after hours and during the weekend. I also have knowledge of the standards of the regulatory, licensing, and accrediting agencies governing the facility.
