With Canadian Wildlife Service-Atlantic Region, advanced conservation of species at risk (SAR) and biodiversity through implementation of federal funding programs, including Priority Places for SAR, Community-nominated Priority Places for SAR, SAR Partnerships on Agricultural Lands (SARPAL).
- Manage monitoring, conservation and research programs in NS and southeastern NB focusing on endangered Piping Plover and other coastal wildlife and ecosystems, including Important Bird Areas. - Design, implement, analyze and report on coastal bird and habitat monitoring and management. - Train and supervise a team of 4-5 staff and over 50 volunteers annually. - Manage budgets, work plans, fundraising, partnerships and reporting outcomes to stakeholders. - Develop and deliver training resources, conservation tools, and communications targeting diverse audiences that synthesize science and conservation outcomes, issues and best practices. - Co-chair Eastern Canada Piping Plover Recovery Team and NS Piping Plover Working Group.
- Over 200 days logged at-sea conducting seabird and marine mammal observations aboard Canadian Coast Guard Ships and other vessels for the Eastern Canada Seabird at Sea Program of Environment Climate Change Canada's Canadian Wildlife Service. - Train new seabird observers on protocols and use of equipment at-sea. - Coordinate with science staff and crew on logistics and daily activities. - Prepare reports synthesizing data.
- Identified, weighed, and measured groundfish and invertebrates and assisted with biological sampling and data entry at-sea for Fisheries and Oceans in Atlantic Canada.
