A passionate educator who has worked with thousands of young people over the past 18 years while working within an academic institution and more recently the solo founder and Director at a for-profit for-good education company called 2BEnterprising Ltd, she is also a Co-Director at Young-Dragons a Community Interest Company Passionate about encouraging entrepreneurial spirit in young people – from primary school to university - Sue led a project ‘Primary to Professional’ project which won an Enterprising Britain Award 2014 and went on to receive a ‘Special Mention’ at the SME Assembly in Naples. She has been recognised nationally for her work, winning UK Enterprise Educator of the Year in 2011 and in again 2015 and being named ‘Business Mentor of the Year’ at the 2012 Women in Business Awards, held in association with PwC. She also was honoured to receive an award from IOEE in the House of Lords as the Enterprise Educator of the Year in 2015. She was also honoured to win The BQ Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year award for Wales Sue is also a Co-Director of a social enterprise Young-Dragons whose mission is to inspire, empower and equip young people across Wales with the skills, experience and aspirations they need to succeed in life. The primary focus is to engage with young individuals aged 5-25, with the aim of providing them with the entrepreneurial skills and ambitions enabling them to achieve their full potential. Over the past 7 years Sue developed an innovative new programme called “The Bumbles of Honeywood” enterprise programme for children just starting in full time in school which is delivered through her company she founded called 2BEnterprising Ltd. The programme is a series of twelve educational books which explore the environmental plight of the bee population,” says Sue. “Each story is set in the community of Honeywood and focuses on the Bumble Family as they overcome different problems using their enterprising skills. "In February 2023, due to internal issues she made the difficult decision to resign from her role at 2BEnterprising to fully commit her energy and expertise to Young-Dragons, a Community Interest Company. Kathryn David her Co-Director and Sue, share a common vision and values, and their primary commitment is to prioritise the well-being and development of children in their community. Sue is passionate about dedicating her efforts to this meaningful endeavor, where Young Dragon's mission revolves around ensuring that children remain at the forefront of all our initiatives.
Together with my co-Director Kathryn David, we have set up a Community Interest Company Our goal is to trigger an enterprising mindset in young people, engendering an innovative and creative approach to life: •To help young people develop entrepreneurial skills: creativity, problem solving, innovation, communication, negotiation and decision-making . •To help to build stronger links between Education & Business. •To support the development of an enterprise curriculum. •To involve positive partners and role models from the business community. •To nurture the innovators and entrepreneurs of the future.
