I am an educator and passionate researcher, dedicated to advancing knowledge and addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing society. My expertise lies in environmental biotechnology, particularly in photocatalysis, water recovery, plasmonics, membranes, and water treatment and resource recovery including AI-ML approaches . Together with a talented team of colleagues and global collaborators, I strive to push the boundaries of science through cutting-edge research published in leading journals. As a science administrator, I provide editorial services to top journals in my field, ensuring that the highest standards of research dissemination are maintained. I have had the privilege of leading several research projects funded by the European Union, alongside numerous bilateral and multilateral collaborations that span across countries. Earlier in my career, my role as a visiting researcher allowed me to work at leading institutes across North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. These experiences enabled me to build a vast network of brilliant researchers, which has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth. Through the support of my co-authors and collaborators, I have been honored to be consistently ranked among the world’s top 2% scientists, a recognition from Stanford University for te fourth consecutive year. At the heart of my research is a commitment to developing innovative solutions with a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability, aiming to create a lasting, positive impact on the world.
