As a Data & Analytics leader, I’m passionate about turning complex data ecosystems into scalable, insightful, and business-driven solutions. Over the past several years, I’ve led the Data Services team in enhancing our enterprise Data Warehouse, optimising ETL processes, and integrating data across diverse trading and support systems. I’ve been at the forefront of our digital transformation, driving initiatives in data automation, governance, and self-service analytics. With a strong focus on visualisation and modelling through Microsoft Power BI and Fabric, I’ve guided the business toward consistent, standardised dashboards and empowered users to explore data through semantic models and dataflows.
Leading the Data Services team, I manag a group of data professionals responsible for extending the scalability, performance, and analytical capability of the enterprise Data Warehouse. This includes overseeing ETL processes, data architecture, and system integrations across both trading and support service platforms. I played a key role in the organisation’s ongoing Digital Transformation, driving initiatives to maximise the value and accessibility of business data. By aligning technology, process, and people, I enabled actionable insights across membership, retail, and operational divisions to support data-driven decision-making and commercial growth. Under my leadership, the team introduced a renewed focus on data visualisation and modelling using Microsoft Power BI and Fabric. We delivered a suite of standardised dashboards and established robust semantic models and dataflows to empower business users with self-service analytics capability. Additionally, I led the design and delivery of automated data pipelines and integrations between critical business systems, improving data consistency, timeliness, and governance across the enterprise. Business Intelligence Developer / Data Architect As part of the Business Intelligence team, I developed and maintained enterprise data integration and reporting solutions across multiple business units. Responsibilities included end-to-end ETL development (SSIS, SQL Server), data modelling, and reporting within a unified BI environment (Business Objects XI 3.1). I engineered consistent, reusable data models and data dictionaries for six trading groups (Food, Energy, Pharmacy, Travel, Childcare, Funeral) and core functions (HR, Membership, Finance), integrating data from disparate systems and technologies into a cohesive data warehouse. Used T-SQL extensively for data extraction, transformation, and automation — developing stored procedures, aggregate tables, and customer segmentation models to support advanced analytics and operational reporting. Key Projects: Membership Loyalty System: Designed and implemented the full data architecture for a company-wide loyalty platform, including data ingestion, liability reporting, affiliate imports, member statements, and data exports. Enterprise CRM Platform: Led the design and SSIS-based development of a business-wide CRM solution integrating customer data across all trading groups, providing unified insights and direct linkage to marketing and email systems.
