2016 – 2019: Technology Delivery Model Lead of the transformational change journey to deliver and implement a major transformation of technology development and deployment for RDS. 2015 -2018: Lead for Technology & Innovation in the RDS capital efficiency transformation journey, charged with delivering capital reduction savings from RDS project portfolio, and additional technology deployment value, through the enhanced implementation of technology, and fundamentally addressing the mindset around technology deployment in projects and assets. VP-Line responsibility for developing & delivering technology & expertise for Upstream, but specifically in the areas of IOR/EOR, reservoir surveillance & control, experimental laboratory capability, rock & fluids science, computational technology (modelling, big data for subsurface), storage and containment (incl. CO2 storage). Strong interfacing with the business. Staff count ca. 200 experienced professionals and laboratory staff across 5 locations (Rijswijk, Amsterdam, Houston, Bangalore, Oman).
Global Discipline Head for Production Technology and Production Chemistry. Oversee and ensure the technical delivery, technology deployment and people capability, on a global basis, of the disciplines. Functionally accountable for all technical professionals in the disciplines (approximately 900 staff). General Manager WRFM overseeing the delivery of a key global business improvement programmes to create “Industry Leading Well, Reservoir & Facility Management (WRFM)”, across both Shell operated and JV assets. At its core is integration across several upstream functions to deliver top quartile performance.
Position held concurrently with PE/Development Manager’s role, responsible for managing the PDO Change Strategy, both near and long term, and its integration across PDO’s functional and asset boundaries.
Manage the PDO Northern Directorate Oil/Gas Hydrocarbon Portfolio, including all field development and reservoir management projects ensuring the development and maintenance of hydrocarbon maturation plans, and the delivery of production targets and reserves maturation. Dimensions: 26 fields with pan-cake and fractured carbonates, sandstones; recovery processes - primary, waterflood, gas-oil-gravity-drainage, gas injection, enhanced oil recovery: oil production 270 kb/d, Water Injection 1850 kb/d, wells 2150, 12 developments rigs (160 well pa), 10 hoists (650 non-routine well entries pa). Included Enhanced Oil Recovery development plans for several assets notably Qarn Alam and Fahud Steam Projects.
Manage and coordinate PDO Corporate planning, economic assessments and technology development – a company producing 1.1 mln boe/d with 22 development rigs, 4 exploration rigs. Strategy development, planning & economics – optimise plans 5 year and long term plans, provide business plans to PDO Board of Directors for approval and provide Shell Business Plan submissions.
2001-2002: Regional Business Advisor for Syria, responsible for shareholder governance and Director Syria Shell Petroleum Development BV (SSPD) and Al Furat Petroleum Company (JV company between Shell, Veba Oil & Gas and Syrian Petroleum Company). 1999-2001: Regional Business Advisor, South Asia (Pakistan, India and Bangladesh), responsible for the governance/performance of three JV operating units involved in production and exploration. Principle Director of Premier & Shell Pakistan BV and its subsidiaries (PSP – an incorporated joint venture company between Shell & Premier Oil Ltd). Pursuit of regional gas development strategies involving upstream and downstream assets and potential partners in the middle east. Project Leader several teams on business acquisition/divestment opportunities in the subcontinent, including technical and commercial evaluation together with external negotiations. Development of strategic alliance relationships with regional partners.
