As Director of the Oil & Gas division at IPI, I lead our global business, working closely with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to align strategy with execution and deliver sustainable growth, stronger profitability, and long-term value. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work across North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East in roles spanning operations, sales, business development, and commercial leadership. These experiences have given me a broad perspective on what drives success and reinforced my belief that strong teams, clear accountability, and a customer-focused approach are at the heart of every high-performing business. I enjoy turning strategy into action and am passionate about improving business performance through operational excellence, commercial growth, and continuous improvement. Whether it’s developing new markets, strengthening customer relationships, or improving key financial and operational metrics, I’m motivated by delivering measurable results and creating lasting value. I hold Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and Global Finance from City University of London. Coretrax expandable tubular technology is designed and manufactured to solve critical downhole challenges to maintain and enhance well integrity. This ground-breaking expansion technology delivers bespoke customer specific solutions for cased hole and open hole, casing patches and re-frac applications. This role entails driving eastern hemisphere sales and empowering operations teams with specialist technical knowledge of the Core expandable product line. A high degree of upfront planning and engineering allows Coretrax to ensure the best technical solution is proposed and delivered.
- Tenders, proposals, RFQs, bids, negotiations – Typical process involved due diligence, cost estimates, competition analysis, market pricing, equipment procurement & stakeholder management. - Timely updates to senior management and sales team with current market intelligence relating to oil/gas pricing, macro-economic developments and pricing drivers, broad level drilling activity across the GCC region. - Applied business improvement initiatives, for example - reducing inventory, increasing rental asset turnover, reducing invoice payment time. - Account management – Regularly updated CRM system to track inquiries and manage full sales cycle. Utilised this, identified a strategy to increase monthly rental of downhole tools in Qatar by over 40%. - Prospected clients and expanded the customer base (KOC, Qatar Energy, Qatar Gas, Shell), thus doubling the effective opportunity pipeline - Responding to customer RFQs and bids promptly, converted key opportunities into wins, raising the overall win percentage.
• Oversee and successfully execute sales and service contracts with major oil and gas clients (QG, NOC, QP, Shell). • Took ownership of profit and loss (P/L) responsibility, with a directive on cost management to minimize profit leakage. Achieved a notable reduction in costs of over 15%. • Acted as the lead project engineer, stationed in client offices for critical projects. Achieved a 97% success rate in equipment operations (drilling, completion, workover projects), both by remote and on-location management. • Proficient in negotiation, claims, and dispute resolution, always resolving issues in a timely and favorable manner. • Built and led a productive and collaborative service team, comprising multiple skilled engineers. Demonstrated strong leadership skills by effectively managing the team and consistently achieving 100% of KPI goals. • Fostered and ingrained a robust operational safety culture, with zero accidents and incidents over 3 years. • Held a leadership role in operations and engineering, overseeing the provision of tailored technical solutions and support to oil and gas clients in the Middle East and Caspian region. • Successfully project managed a critical endeavor for Saudi Aramco, specifically focused on multi-stage cementing, resulting in the establishment of a long-term, five-year contract. Additionally, made personal contributions that led to contract wins with Qatar Petroleum and NOC in 2019. • Led project planning activities, including engaging with customers to gather essential job-related information, conducting design calculations, procuring, and preparing equipment, developing procedures. • Led team of field engineers with diverse geographical spread, for 24/7 ongoing operations. 100% KPIs hit for engineer preparation. Training, pre-job reviews, adhering to regulations, and risk/safety reviews. • Spearheaded the global initiative to develop and implement standardized risk assessment registers which was successfully adopted throughout the entire company.
• Held the role of lead engineer offshore, overseeing downhole equipment operations in the UK and European North Sea region. Proficient working on drilling platforms, drill ships, semi-submersible rigs, and jack-up rigs. • Cultivated strong relationships with customers, particularly Apache North Sea, leveraging successful outcomes to upsell equipment and generate an additional revenue of $500,000. • Conducted operational tasks offshore, meticulously examining all equipment aspects such as safety measures, certifications, and regulatory compliance. Collaborated closely with rig and vessel teams for operational success. • Successfully tackled a diverse range of technical challenges faced by customers, demonstrating effective conflict resolution skills, and resulting in an increased rate of repeat orders. • Implemented thorough preparation processes, ensuring accurate quality assurance, quality control, and documentation control. • Well testing (DST) engineer within the coal seam gas industry in Queensland, successfully completing over 30 jobs. • Identified and secured alternative third-party suppliers, resulting in significant cost savings for servicing needs ($105k/year), including logistics, machine shops, and seal suppliers. • Conducted training sessions for field personnel to enhance their technical knowledge and competency, leading to a reduction in field incidents, errors, and downtime. This resulted in a notable service improvement of 34%. • Implemented protocols for a Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2008), thereby improving the company's capacity to cater to a wider range of clients and optimizing operational processes.
