About

    • Project Engineer - Additive Manufacturing
      Jun 2017 - Jan 2019 · 1 yr 8 mos

Establishing a groundbreaking department for the additive manufacturing of aluminum components to complement the foundry required assembling a highly qualified team and creating effective organizational structures. As a project engineer, I built the new department in close collaboration with the management, assessing and reviewing detailed product cost estimates to ensure competitiveness and profitability. By conducting comprehensive feasibility studies, I was able to introduce the technology to clients. The additively manufactured prototypes served as a gateway for the foundry. Conceptual planning, implementation, and defining/creating production parameters aimed at distinguishing us from our competitors in terms of efficiency and quality. I was responsible for the entire production phase, including post-processing, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards and deadlines. Continuous monitoring and detailed documentation identified optimization potential and ensured compliance with quality standards. Regular process reviews identified cost reduction opportunities, enhancing profitability through efficiency measures and process improvements. Additionally, I established safety standards that far exceed legal requirements to ensure a safe and reliable production environment. These comprehensive measures, along with meticulous planning and execution, enabled us to build an innovative and high-performance department for the additive manufacturing of aluminum components. This new department not only complements existing foundry processes but also sets new benchmarks in the industry.

  • Additive Manufacturing Engineer at GE Power
