A UCLA-trained, licensed psychologist and certified coach, I help clients from all walks of life find contentment, meaning, and direction - sometimes in a single session. I employ an evidence-based, culturally competent, solution-oriented approach to counseling and coaching. I am trained in CBT, Depth Psychology (Jungian), and other techniques for deeper exploration, which is especially helpful for individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. I also have advanced training in neuropsychology, medical psychology, and mindfulness-based practices. I am very interested in the intersection of wellness, college, and workplace success, and life/career planning in a chaotic and unpredictable world. I'm a nationally recognized expert in the field of adult neuropsychological ADHD/LD assessment and have published cutting-edge research in some of the world's leading academic journals. I am the author of the Kane Learning Difficulties Assessment (KLDA), published by PAR, Inc. The KLDA is in use at colleges and universities across the USA, Canada, and abroad. I have worked with thousands of individuals, including mid-life career changers, cancer survivors, college students, and individuals undergoing major life transitions. I also work with new through seasoned higher education professionals and academics who are seeking to either enter or exit academia for a more balanced and satisfying work-life. I think one of my clients summed it up best when he said I had the "wisdom of a psychologist and the skills of a coach who's been there." Finally, I am an award-winning Professor Emeritus of Counseling with extensive teaching, counseling, and leadership experience who has worked at four major universities and three community colleges.
