Responsible for managing the Bureau of the Suriname Trade and Industry Association; providing advice to the Board; ensuring good relations with the Members; promoting the interest of Members; maintaining good working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including other Private Sector Organizations, Government, Trade Unions, NGO's, International Organizations; developing policy proposals; implementing the Strategic Plan of STIA.
Undertook various consultancy activities, in particular related to project management, programme management, regional integration, poverty reduction, development, migration, human and social development and international trade.
Responsible for the following components of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy : free movement of skills, social security, facilitation of travel, consumer affairs and contingent rights. Also responsible for labour and industrial relations, migration and social protection matters. The responsibility include policy development, project - and programme development, convening of and participation in meetings at all levels and representation of the Community during regional, hemispheric and international meetings.
Regional responsibility for for advancing labour and industrial relations matters within the Caribbean Community, in particular the development of project proposals, projects, programmes and policy proposals to enhance social dialogue and the enactment of harmonised labour legislation as well as the promotion of decent work at the regional and national levels. Also responsible for the implementation of the CARICOM Agreement on Social Security in Member States. Furthermore responsible for the convening of meetings of stakeholders (Government, Employers and Trade Unions and Heads of Social Security) and the representation of the Community during regional, hemispheric and international meetings.
