The role initially was to create awareness of ATC's brand and capability in the Sydney market, where there was minimal understanding of who ATC is and our capabilities - basically a start-up operation. This includes promoting the ATC brand to the broker market with visitations and attending industry events. Using my underwriting experience, knowledge of the market and extensive relationship I have established during my twenty years in the industry, I was able to grow and maintain a profitable portfolio. Key to success is being diligent with risk selection, understanding the market, forming trusting relationship with brokers, being honest and most importantly providing excellent service standard.
Managed a team of 11 providing underwriting support to the broker network within NSW Metropolitan and state of QLD. The role (internally) includes monthly reporting to leadership team including assistance with budgeting / financial and portfolio management, assist nationally with technical support on referrals, pricing, wordings, mentoring of staff with training and personal development, identify and empower those within the team who have the capability to take on more responsibility, implement change within the teams to ensure both teams works well individually and exceptional as a united team. QLD responsibilities: The role (externally) includes promoting Lumley Engineering to the broker market assisting the underwriters with visitations and empowering the underwriters to attend industry events / functions.

The role also acts as a technical referral point for NSW Regional, ACT and QLD branches.
