I have been actively practicing Hospital Medicine since 1997, and was a Hospitalist before anyone knew what that term meant. At that time SHM was known as NAIP (National Association of Inpatient Physicians) and I was a charter member of what is now the Society of Hospital Medicine. Truly enjoy my work and career. Prefer nocturnist shifts, and prefer to work in facilities where it is possible for me to continue performing procedures that I do well, including intubations, central lines, and vent management. Am experienced in EPIC, CERNER, McKesson Paragon, and Meditech EMR's. Learn new one's very easily and quickly become proficient in each. States in which I have active license: FL, GA, NC, OH, MI, WI and Indiana. Have no desire to add more licenses at this time.
Provide inpatient medical-care to patients admitted to the hospital who have no prior known physician who practices at that hospital, or their doctor no longer provides inpatient care to his/her own patients. All of my professional time is now dedicated to direct patient-care.
Hospitalist physician, mostly a "traveler" since March 2008, even for HMG and Eagle. Am comfortable in the ICU/CCU and can perform Intubations and Central Lines and can run Ventilators.
