I never thought I’d be where I am today, president of Hobby Lobby and co-founder of the Museum of the Bible. I grew up helping my dad nail miniature picture frames together in our garage. As time passed and dad’s little business grew, I questioned the Bible. My parents and grandparents emphasized the importance of having a personal relationship with Christ, but I had to discover it for myself. I had my doubts and struggles, and I studied the Bible extensively. Through that process, I discovered that the Bible is the most important book a person can choose to read and grapple with. My wife, Jackie Green, and I are the founders of the Museum of the Bible in the heart of Washington, D.C. This is the largest international museum in the world devoted solely to the presentation and the preservation of the Bible. The museum and my discovery process is why the title of our latest book is so important, This Dangerous Book: How the Bible has shaped our world and why it still matters today. We decided to build the Museum of the Bible, to enable people from all cultures to see the history of the Bible and its present impact. Come and discover it for yourself!
