Aligning and deploying technology to streamline business processes and expand the bottom line, I: ✧ Recipient of the 2024 Top Business Transformation 150 Executives, recognizing the top global executives leading transformation efforts across their organizations. ✧ Successfully led the IT integration program with Billings Clinic, forming a new $2.2B organization across all of Montana and Wyoming. ✧ Established an in-house security team, selecting several security experts and a technical team in under two months. ✧ Realized multimillion dollars in savings by aligning the system and security roadmap with organizational goals. ✧ Designed the first IT assessment and strategy to hold us accountable in the first 100 days, thus adding over a million dollars in savings. ✧ Engineered a new intranet allowing for more accessible access to streamlined reporting and analysis. ✧ Incorporated the entire biomedical division in three months. Relying on my background in using technology to automate and improve business processes, I focused my efforts on the requirements of the employees and: ✧ Reallocated staff resources and consolidated vendors. Adding seven qualified IT professionals reduced the overall payroll and drove employee retention to 93%. ✧ Trained a new IT security team and became the CISO to monitor and maintain the security of healthcare applications, databases, computers, and websites. ✧ Improved systems and procedures, increasing the ability to manage 10X more projects, successfully managing 84 large projects. I was fortunate to collaborate with a team that demonstrated professionalism and excellence in everyday assignments, and I found it rewarding when I helped 14 direct reports advance their careers. The impact I made was validated when I was nominated and inducted into the “CIO Hall of Fame”!
In under nine months, I overhauled the IT department, including implementing a thorough vendor review board and dashboards representing metrics that highlighted our efforts in reducing costs and driving top-line sales. Additionally, the team, which had been rated as the most diverse department only behind HR, had: ✧ Received multiple “Most Wired” awards for successfully implementing digital transformation initiatives. ✧ Achieved a 92% IT satisfaction rate because of the improvements we made based on our three-year road map. ✧ Assisted in expanding market share by incorporating a competitive healthcare network that enhanced provider/ patient portals and detailed analytics of the population and market. Even though I was awarded the first CIO Presidential Commendation given by the nationally ranked Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for 11+ years of commitment and service and received acclaim as the “CIO of the Year” for our overall success, it was a privilege to lead a team of 250 technical associates, physicians, and nurses!
As an executive team member managing eight electronic health records and six hospitals with more than 1,600 inpatient beds, I helped improve patient care by building healthcare BI by correlating patient data with various reports and medical records. Additionally, I: ✧ Replaced the antiquated network and consolidated data centers reducing downtime by 52%. ✧ Streamlined employee processes and activities, improving productivity by 35%. ✧ Secured millions in capital approvals allocated explicitly for 72 additional projects. ✧ Used a proven RFP strategy, negotiating a clinical Biomed engineering project resulting in multimillion dollars in savings.
Ensuring healthcare staff could provide comprehensive medical services to patients in northern Idaho, I oversaw IT operations and services for 28 clinics and a hospital. Responsible for a multimillion-dollar budget, I assessed IT efficiencies and: ✧ Orchestrated the multimillion-dollar IT system upgrade for the hospital health system. ✧ Overhauled the entire network by developing a fully integrated system with advanced data analytics and communication capabilities. This allowed the team to exchange health information regionally and securely. ✧ Instituted standards, processes, and metric-based incentives that helped exceed company goals. ✧ Integrated an enterprise project management office and security team that executed over 200 technical projects. Having won the “IT Most Wired Innovator” award, I was grateful that my team was recognized for the impact they had made and having been rated the “2nd Best IT Department in the US” and receiving the “Most Wired Hospital” designation multiple times for our hospital!
