As a labor relations representative, my main duties and responsibilities center around advocating for employees in the workplace. I am primarily responsible for contract negotiation engaging with management to collectively bargain for contracts and other work and safety-related employee functions. It is also my responsibility to enforce the collective bargaining agreement to ensure that management is maintaining and upholding its commitments. It is also my responsibility to keep up on all the latest changes to laws, rules, and regulations surrounding Labor Relations on both a state and federal level.
In my role at the United Public Service Employees Union, I was responsible for negotiating labor contracts and managing contract administration. I conducted steward training to enhance union representation and addressed grievances effectively. My efforts in preparing Collective Bargaining Agreements and tracking legislative changes contributed to a more equitable workplace.
