I'm an apprentice trained mechanical engineer with experience as a Project Engineer, Maintenance Engineeer and Design Engineer in Oil & Gas, Cranes & Lifting, Petrochemical Process, Building Services (HVAC), Material Handling and Special Purpose Machinery industries, performing surveys and fault finding, arranging, managing and supervising maintenance projects of differing sizes and complexity with a hands on approach. I have 20 years experience in the oil & gas industry, both onshore and offshore, and 25 years experience draughting using AutoCad and modelling using SolidWorks & Inventor, producing workpacks, method statements, permits to work, toolbox talks, project / inspection plans, risk assessments, overseeing safe systems of work, lift plans, drawings & models, designs & schematics, costings, logistics, procurement of tools, materials & equipment, HAZID & HAZOP's, TAR's, project reports, progress reports, installations, load tests, commissioning documents, etc. and project sign offs. I have an ONC and HND in Mechanical Engineering, my BOSIET/FOET, MIST, Working at Height, Rigging & Lifting and Confined Space & Vessel Entry c/w Rescue certificates and I have a full clean UK driving license and I'm familiar with LOLER and PUWER directives, I have BPSS clearance for working on Ministry of Defence and Nuclear plant projects and CITB Construction safety training and I'm in the process of gaining my CSCS card. I returned to Yorkshire from Aberdeen a few years ago where I was living and working for nearly 10 years, I'm presently working as a project & planning engineer at the Clarke Chapman Group in their Leeds and Gateshead offices. Arranging, managing & planning maintenance and refurbishment projects for overhead cranes, goliath, semi-goliath & pedestal cranes in docks, military bases and nuclear power stations. Producing documentation, designs, project plans, proposals & bids, customer & contractor meetings, logistics, costings, certification, life time records, progress reports, welding details, procedures & records, installations and commissioning.
Arranging, planning & Managing cranes maintenance projects both onshore & offshore, liaising with customers & third party contractors as well as our own maintenance technicians, producing documents including survey reports, lift plans, risk assessments, permits to work, project reports, costings, tooling & equipment lists, estimating, manning & personnel, method statements & work packs, commissioning, certification and handover reports.
