I am an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional with a broad operations and projects background gained through over 35 years international experience with Shell and 6 years with Qatar Foundation. I am now working as an HSE Consultant. Prior to this I was Executive Director HSE with Qatar Foundation (QF) from 2018 to 2024. Here I was responsible for Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, Fire Safety and Emergency Response, Crisis Response and Worker Welfare. My key achievements were establishing a clinical Occupational Health unit, embedding Worker Welfare in the QF contracting process and establishing the first Joint Committee in Qatar dedicated to female contract workers. My final position with Shell was HSE Lead in the Shell / BG Australia integration team for the QGC Coal Seam Gas and LNG plant assets in Queensland, Australia. Prior to this I was seconded from Shell to the Arrow Energy Pty Ltd joint venture, Brisbane, Australia, as General Manager Safety. Other Shell assignments were as Regional HSE Manager then VP HSE for Shell’s E&P business in the Middle East (2008 – 2013). Prior to this I was HSE Manager for Shell Nigeria E&P (2004-2008) during offshore construction and start-up of the Bonga FPSO Project. My background is in engineering and oil and gas operations with assignments in projects, technical services and production operations (onshore and offshore) since joining Shell in 1982. I have excellent interpersonal skills with passion to drive HSE performance improvements in projects and operations.
Providing safety leadership support to senior leaders in the Refining and Petrochemical sector in Türkiye and Azerbaijan
• Led the Covid 19 Task Force in Qatar Foundation from 2020 to 2021 • Established a clinical Occupational Health unit focussed on wellbeing in the workplace • Revised the QF Worker Welfare Standard and embedded compliance with it in the QF contracting process • Piloted the formation of Joint Management and Worker committees in QF contractor organisations in partnership with the Qatar Ministry of Labour and the International Labour Organisation • Established the first Joint Committee in Qatar dedicated to female contract workers
• Member of the Shell / BG integration team for Australia with responsibility for the HSSE integration of the BG Queensland Gas Company (QGC) coal seam gas and LNG plant assets into Shell Australia • Responsible for delivery of the HSSE, Business Continuity and Crisis Response integration milestones • Developed the HSSE Target Operating Model for HSSE in Shell Australia • Developed the forward plan for the implementation of the Shell HSSE Control Framework in QGC
• Secondment to Arrow Energy (Shell/CNPC JV - onshore Coal Seam Gas to LNG venture). • Functional head of Safety for FEED stage of the Bowen Project and the Arrow Bowen Pipeline Project. • Delivered a behaviour-based safety leadership program across Arrow Energy which has substantially improved company safety performance
• Functional head of HSE for Shell operated ventures in the region and member of the Regional Leadership Team. • Responsible for HSE governance of joint ventures in the region - PDO, Oman LNG, BAPETCo, and AFPC - in which Shell was a major shareholder but not the operator. • Established the Majnoon and the Iraq South Gas HSE teams for the new Shell ventures in Iraq. • Led a global emergency response improvement project.
• Responsible for driving HSE performance improvements in Shell Operated Units and the major non-operated JVs in the Middle East and North Africa region. • Established a regional HSE leadership team, including participation from non-operated ventures, to share HSE learning across the region
