One of the first graduates of the first program in Life-Span Developmental Psychology at West Virginia University with additional training at Pennsylvania State University and University of Southern California. Have had a 53 year career as Professor of Psychology, 45 years as Institute Director. Have been an educator, researcher and community advocate. Serve or served as President of four national organizations in Gerontology. Recognized for my work on aging and work, self management of career and retirement, cognitive intervention, training and retraining, Alzheimer intervention, and business and aging. Currently serving as President Board of Governors, Accreditation for Gerontology Education Council, Chair, Commission on Aging, City of Akron, Co-Chair, Age Friendly Akron/Summit County.
