Engineering lead for MongoDB Atlas infrastructure
At MotherDuck, I was one of the founding engineers. I helped start the database team and build out core parts of the query engine (parser, planner, optimizer, execution) along with the multi-tenant metadata service. It was a chance to build the foundations of a cloud warehouse from scratch.
Served as Tech Lead for BigQuery Developer Tools, overseeing UI, CLI, and client libraries across languages. Led cross-functional efforts to improve developer experience, owned the Java client libraries and contributed to open source (Apache Maven). Mentored other engineers and spoke at international conferences.
I led a 10-person global engineering team and helped build a real-time bond issuance platform. Took on everything from entitlement design to agile delivery and production support.
As a member of the Cloud Architect team, I delivered projects ranging from Cassandra deployments and IoT UIs with Raspberry Pi to a streaming platform for Kaiser Permanente and UStream, owning them end-to-end from requirements to delivery.
