• Responsibility for the mechanical and electrical elements surrounding company’s main data centre. • Proposing data centre improvements or upgrades in line with Uptime Institute guidance. • Critical assessment of the data centre resilience against Uptime Institute tier certification. • Main contractor and sub-contractor management • Management of change within IT led systems • Whole life cost analysis of project proposals • Business case proposals for capital projects • Delivery of capital projects • Development of electrical design for building services projects • Critical analysis of proposed engineering design • Compliance management
• Working on the electrical design for building services projects • Responsible for managing the design delivery of up to ten projects at any one time • Design of projects with a contract value of up to approximately £3.5m • Design of electrical systems in line with the wiring and building regulations • Checking of subcontractor design elements and installation work • Coordinating mechanical and electrical design elements • Design of fire detection systems to BS5839 • Lighting design to the CIBSE LGs, BSEN12464 and emergency lighting to BSEN1838 • Management and responsibility for the development of graduate and junior engineers • Development of drawing QA and standardisation
• Delivering projects for Yorkshire Water under its AMP5 capital investment programme • Worked across a range of projects on the East coast of Yorkshire to improve the bathing water quality • Most notably worked on the £27m project in Scarborough and a similar £23m project in Bridlington • Responsible for ensuring the project was designed and built in line with Yorkshire Water’s engineering specification • Design of the control systems for the new plant • Managing commissioning of the plant in line with the design • Project management of the mechanical & electrical elements of the plant • Solving of technical problems
