As a Finance and Financial Planning & Wealth Management major at the University of Delaware, I am passionate about leveraging my skills to help individuals and organizations achieve financial stability and success. My professional experiences, including an internship at CPR Investments and roles in customer service and operations, have honed my ability to communicate effectively, solve problems, and manage responsibilities in dynamic environments. In addition to my academic pursuits, I serve as the Treasurer of Theta Chi Fraternity, where I manage chapter finances and collaborate on initiatives to strengthen alumni and university relationships. My study abroad experience in Rome expanded my global perspective and adaptability, skills I bring to every challenge I face. Through involvement in the Financial Planning Club and projects like stock analysis and being Bloomberg certified, I continuously seek opportunities to deepen my understanding of the financial industry. I am excited to connect with like-minded professionals and explore opportunities to contribute my skills and grow within the field.
In my bartending role, I’m not just serving drinks; I’m creating experiences, building relationships, and ensuring that each guest leaves with a smile. Firstly, I care for craftsmanship in every pour. Whether it’s mixing a classic cocktail or innovating a new signature drink, I take pride in perfecting the art of mixology. From balancing flavors to ensuring consistency, every detail matters. Secondly, customer experience is what keeps people in, and creating a welcoming atmosphere is key. I thrive on engaging with guests, understanding their preferences, and delivering exceptional service that turns first-timers into regulars. Lastly, I build my team collaboration skills every day. Working behind the bar requires seamless teamwork and communication. I collaborate closely with my colleagues to ensure smooth operations and support each other during busy/understaffed shifts. In addition to team collaboration Problem-Solving on the Fly is important to us. From handling a rush of orders to addressing unexpected challenges, my role demands quick thinking and adaptability. It’s all part of the dynamic environment that keeps me on my toes.
As Treasurer of Theta Alpha Xi, I’m responsible for overseeing all financial decisions and maintaining the chapter’s fiscal health. I develop and manage a comprehensive semester-long budget, ensuring responsible spending and long-term financial stability for our organization.
During my internship at Equitable Advisors, I gained hands-on exposure to the financial services industry through a combination of client outreach, office collaboration, and industry immersion. I created and refined call lists to assist in prospecting potential clients, gaining a deeper understanding of how to build and manage relationships in the financial planning space. I also shadowed experienced financial professionals, taking every opportunity to absorb knowledge and learn the intricacies of investment strategy, retirement planning, and client service. This experience solidified my interest in helping individuals build financial security and gave me a strong foundation for a future in financial advising.
During my internship, I gained invaluable insights by observing the daily operations of seasoned financial advisors. From strategic planning to client interactions, I witnessed firsthand what it takes to excel in this dynamic field. Firstly, my role involved completing various tasks that not only supported the team but also significantly enhanced my understanding of financial advisory work. Each day was a stepping stone in deepening my knowledge and skills. Secondly, By sitting in on meetings and discussions, I learned about the intricacies of financial planning, client relationship management, and market analysis. This experience provided me with a comprehensive view of the profession and how financial strategies are crafted and executed. The tasks I dealt with allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.
A Day in the Life at Chic's Marina went as follows: My days are filled with ensuring smooth docking operations, managing boat arrivals and departures, and providing top-notch customer service to our valued guests. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to enhance our marina’s operations and guest experience. In addition, we have to have high amounts of precision and care from coordinating docking procedures to overseeing maintenance and safety checks. I’m dedicated to maintaining our docks and ensuring they are in perfect condition for our diverse range of watercraft. At Chic’s Marina, we pride ourselves on offering a memorable experience. I engage with boaters, offer assistance, and address any needs to ensure their time on Lake George is nothing short of exceptional. Lastly, Working at a marina requires seamless coordination with my team. Together, we manage everything from dock logistics to emergency responses, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and safely.
