      Developing the Rural Solutions programme in the Thames basin focusing on the reach from Oxford to Teddington and several of it's main tributaries outside this area. Through the co-hosting of the Cherwell and Ray catchment partnership with BBOWT, collaborative working with landowners, farmers, and stakeholders will be essential to achieving healthier rivers. Working directly with local authorities and communities within, the programme is also delivering a series of bathing water projects to increase awareness, empower users, and drive changes to reduce pollution at source; resulting in environmental and social benefits for all.

      Thames21 is the voice for London’s waterways, working with communities to improve rivers and canals for people and wildlife. As the Natural Flood Management Programme (NFM) Manager I oversee the delivery of three Environment Agency funded Community pilot projects in North London. Working with project partners including Councils within the London Boroughs of Enfield, Hillingdon, and Harrow, local community groups, environmental organisations, and academic institutes, we are implementing and monitoring solutions with multiple benefits; flood risk reduction, water quality improvements, enhancing biodiversity. This role also includes several additional projects that compliment the aims and objectives and include Forestry Commission woodland creation. On top of this, further sites that would benefit from NFM are being scoped out for future projects.

      As the Natural Flood Management Officer I work with the London Borough of Enfield Council to implement and evaluate interventions within the Salmons Brook Catchment. I liaise with land owners, and various key stakeholders including Friends of Groups and the Environment Agency to determine feasibility. A partnership with Brunel University will allow a PhD student to scientifically investigate, advise, monitor and evaluate works carried out over the next four years.

    Spitalfields City Farm is a free, safe, stimulating and inclusive community space that aims to inspire and provide a place that everyone can enjoy. The main charitable purpose is to promote life long learning, health, and environmental knowledge to the members of the local community. As the Education Programme Coordinator, I liaised with partner schools and funders to deliver educational workshops to children and young adults of all abilities. Data was collected, analysed and reports written where required. I manages a team to deliver elements of the Education Programme as well as manages the associated financial aspect including invoicing. Liaising with Head and Assistant Head teachers and other relevant teaching staff to promote and organise learning opportunities on and off-site, I also facilitates the ‘Outdoor Classroom Day’ at the Farm and Kid’s Kitchen; a holiday provision club that aims to tackle holiday hunger. 30% of the role was liaising with key stakeholders from large organisations to organise and deliver volunteering opportunities on and off-site catering to CSR requirements. 10% of the role required the management of the Health and Safety and Safeguarding element of the charity along with other administrative duties.

    The Bushcraft Company delivers outdoor education programmes to schools across the country, for students aged 7-18. With residential courses that focus on team building and leadership through the medium of Bushcraft and expedition skills, as well as courses specialising in wilderness first aid and wilderness cookery, we offer learning outside the classroom experiences which challenge, educate and inspire students. Drawing upon traditional values, ancient skills and latest thinking on learning outside the classroom, we have created a truly unique platform for outdoor education. As a camp leader I oversaw the running of residential camps and had the responsibility of up to 60 children at any one time. I delivered educational workshops, managed the staff team and liaised with teachers and staff to make sure the agreed programme was delivered and the high standards of The Bushcraft company were maintained or exceeded.
