As CEO of Marriott Vacations Worldwide (NYSE VAC)I led the strategic initiative to acquire ILG, Inc. The combined company with 20,000 associates grew to more than 120 resorts and over 720,000 owners and Members in a diverse portfolio that included seven vacation ownership brands. It also included exchange networks and membership programs comprised of nearly 3,200 resorts in over 80 nations and nearly 1.6 million members. Prior to assuming the role of CEO of MVW after the spin off from Marriott International in 2011, I served as executive Vice President of Lodging Brands and was responsible for the growth and positioning strategies for all Marriott Lodging brands, which included Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites; Renaissance; Courtyard; Fairfield Inn; Springhill Suites; Residence Inn; Townplace Suites and Marriott Conference centers. My 50+ year career included 39 years with Marriott International where I held several key executive management positions as follows: senior Vice President Sales and Marketing for Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites; regional Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic Region; Vice President of Revenue Management; senior Vice President of Rooms Operations and Related Services and general Manager Bethesda Marriott in Maryland. In 2001, I received an honorary doctoral degree in Business Administration in Hospitality Management from Johnson and Wales University. I am a past member of the Advisory Board of Directors of the UCF Rosen School of Hospitality Management; a past board member of the Maryland Hotel/Motel Association; a member of the Board of Directors and Past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the American Resort Development Association; past Chairman of the Board of Directors of InMoment; a past member of the Board of Directors of the Orlando/Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau; past Chairman of the Board gof Governors of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees; and a member of the Board of Directors of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida.
I retired as CEO of MVW at the end of 2022 after 50 1/2 years with Marriott
